In collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Christian Council of Ghana, Flowers School of Technology and Management honoured a request to run a two-day intensive workshop on Innovation and Entrepreneurship on 29-30 July 2009 in Accra, Ghana. Thirty-two DAFI scholars participated in the workshop.

In support of the capacity-building efforts of Liberia, captured under Pillar IV of the Liberia Poverty Reduction Strategy, PEP Liberia collaborates with FlowersBooks, the publishing division of Flowers School of Technology and Management (UK & Germany) to bring this unique Certificate course to Liberians at home.
Ex-DAFI graduate, Bryant Slah, (pictured left), is the Founder and Principal of Precious Jewel International School at the Liberian Refugee Camp in Ghana. He has engaged fellow Ex-DAFI graduates as teachers and together they focus on Child Education at the refugee camp. Refugee Education is key to empowerment.

PEP Liberia is an initiative of Liberian refugees in the Buduburam refugee camp in Ghana. In 2001 a small group of motivated people decided not to sit down. Together with SMA missionaries, they started with open air vocational trainings for the camp's youth, all on a voluntary basis. Four years later, their tireless efforts resulted in a lively training centre, offering an integrated program involving skills training for war-affected refugees; agricultural programs for women; a deaf school and refugee children assistance program...
